Be In It
Half-presence is its own kind of absence. When you are in it, be in it. Fully. The Pattern cannot run on one foot in and one foot out.
4 min readThere is a mode of operation that feels like engagement but is not. The body is present. The eyes are on the thing. But the attention is somewhere else entirely — rehearsing a conversation, processing yesterday, drifting through unrelated noise.
This is half-presence. And it is pervasive. Most people spend the majority of their waking hours in some version of it.
