Accountability

Accountability is not punishment. It is the moment you stop attributing your position entirely to forces outside yourself.

The word accountability has been corrupted. In most usage it means blame — someone must be held to account, which means someone must be made to feel bad about what happened. That is not what COGNÂE means by it.

COGNÂE accountability is simpler and harder: the recognition that your position — however it came about, however unfair, however shaped by forces outside your control — is now yours to respond to. Not to own as fault. To own as territory.
